Michael Chapman is an acoustic guitar virtuoso, still actively gigging in his 70s today. A rare solo performer, originally recording for the progressive Harvest label, with past band members including Rick Kemp, Mick Ronson and Keef Hartley. He was also a favourite of BBC's influential and revered DJ John Peel.
This set includes both his solo Rockpalast performance from 1975 plus the two unscreened tracks he performed as part of 1978's Rocknacht. Songs include the title track from the 1974 album 'Deal Gone Down' (NME's Charles Shaar Murray at the time suggested this album was evidence for Chapman as 'Britain's JJ Cale'). 'Sea Of Wine' (in 2 versions here) is a 'live' classic, often extended and always different in its interpretation. 'In The Valley' was reprised on BBC TV's Songwriters Circle (2012), ensuring Chapman's music is still very relevant today. The liner note contains a new interview with Michael Chapman.
